About ten days ago I was in Amsterdam to discover the IBIS Budget hotel. A new concept that has been launched in the south of the city with family rooms and even a game room where you can relax after a day walking around in the city with the kids, or play soccer, ping pong and race games with your friends. For some reasons I always like to stay in an IBIS hotel and I did stay in their hotels before with my work, so I was pleased to discover this one.

The rooms are fun and have a double bed or two separated ones with a TV, some open closet space, a closed closet and a bathroom that has the perfect basics. There are family rooms with 4-5 beds, kind of duplex style with a small living/game room. So was the room next to me and I wish I could've stayed in that one for the night. However, if you need to go to the bathroom urgently during the night it can be dangerous to climb down those stapled beds. But that's another detail...

As we all know it can be quite expensive to stay in a big city such as Amsterdam and prices can easily go up to 150-200€ a night. At this IBIS hotel you pay round 79€, according to Booking, and breakfast is 7€. However I love to go out for breakfast when I'm in a city as discovering places is the most fun. But 79€ is great to keep money aside for other things you want to do in the city.

The hotel is about 30minutes from the city with an Uber or the taxi. But just around the hotel you can take public transport that brings you immediately to the center. They also have Parking possibilities around at the hotel if you prefer to come with your car.

My general opinion about the hotel? An 8/10 as I loved the fact that there is a game room in the hotel to keep kids and big families busy. The price is right for what you get and the room is big enough for me for a city trip stay. Hygienically the bathroom was super clean, but I saw some marks on my bed frame (I guess the cleaning staff putted her hands to make up the bed) but otherwise all clean.

Soon more about hotspots in Amsterdam! But right now I can't wait to plan my next trip. Fingers crossed that will be soon...
