The city Koln, Cologne, offers you everything. From the centre that has the most lovely shops to cozy restaurants en places to sit down, have a talk and relax from the shopping madness or siteseeing in the city. The west of the city offers you a nice surprise. You will find the 'Belgische Viertel'. An urban district with some secret hotspots that makes your heart skip a beat. Unique boutiques, trendy bars and nice pubs for the evening! You really need to know the places, but after some research and discovering the hotspots, you defenitely won't be dissapointed. Even the reception of the hotel recommended this place. And if the local people recommend it to you, you defenitely need to discover it yourself.
We started the trip to the 'Belgische Viertel' at the Aachener Strasse. This street is just at the beginning of the district. At CAFECAFE we ate a bagel and a typical italian Panini. So delicious and enough for a crazy upcoming discovering trip. Together with a cappuccino and a piece of melted Belgian Chocolate in combination with milk, it was the best lunch I've ever had. But more of this later in another post! I can't reveal everything at once!
Discovering cities, walking through the historic streets and districts, but ofcourse also doing some shopping at local boutiques and going out for dinner. All of these things you defenitely wanna do during a citytrip. And if you don't have the opportunity to go on a summer/beach holiday ('cause of the Home Project in my case), you do a little city trip to have a little break for yourself.
Thanks to Thomas Cook I had the opportunity to choose a ticket to a city of my choice. Immediately the cities such as Paris, London and Amsterdam came through my mind. But given that I already discovered all of them, I really wanted to go somewhere I've never been before. This collaboration was the perfect occasion for some adventure. A place that would surprise me, whether it would be the food, shopping or siteseeing.
